Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is the first major conflict since the Second World War, and a serious violation of international law and our collective humanity.
This unprovoked attack is the most serious threat to the rules-based international order since 1945 – and because of that, a serious threat to global peace.
Conservatives are calling on the government to implement visa-free travel from Ukraine to Canada that would cut the red tape, and permit the Ukrainian elderly, children and others to find a safe place in Canada while the Russian army is bombing cities, shooting innocent people and destroying civilian buildings.
On March 1st, 2022, the House of Commons immigration committee voted to call on the government to implement visa-free travel from Ukraine to Canada. The vote passed with the support of the Conservatives, Bloc Québécois, and NDP, the Liberal members voted against it.
